The Value of Shared Equity

How expanding community bolsters success

There is something going on in our world today that drives an overwhelming sense of self-reliance. I choose to believe that both capitalism and social media have something to do with it. There is also the philosophy that “if you want something done right, do it yourself.”

But no matter what the reason for self-reliance, many Americans, including myself, attempt to do things leveraging their own power, abilities and resources.

Many have heard that your net worth is influenced to your network.

So, today, if you are someone who, like me, is staunchly self-reliant, I invite you to think of who you can add value to and who can add value to you, to expand the reach and capacity of your initiatives.

Your initiatives are worthwhile and powerful. Don’t keep them all to yourself.

Who can you collaborate with to spread the word of what you are doing? Who can you share resources with to amplify the news of the amazing things someone else is doing?

Essentially, we all have equity, and in sharing what we have with others, we will get through this season, these times in a more sane and beautiful manner.

As I write this post I think to myself, sharing and borrowing equity is also known as community. So, evaluate your community, and who you commune with, and seek to expand it for a more expansive existence.
