How Listening Helps You Reach Business Goals Faster
Before launching, ask somebody.
Have you ever heard the saying that you have two ears and one mouth? Well, I certainly have and it illuminates the idea of us listening more, and talking less.
Otip! #3 from 51 Brand Marketing Tips for Creators invites us to “Ask Somebody” before we launch a new product or campaign to find out what real people want.
Since the beginning of entrepreneurship, makers have set out to create products that they like, or even more likely that friends and family like and encourage makers to continue making. Note that such familial research is riddled with bias. But it is feedback nonetheless. So today, I espouse to every maker on the planet to ask viable customers what they want, and listen. This simple step saves so much money and time.
And given the infinite tools available for FREE customer surveys via social media polls, Zoom Polls, Google Forms, Typeform questionnaires (amongst so many more), asking people for feedback on new products, desired features and so much more has never been simpler.
I fully understand that YOU as a maker have a TON of things to do as an entrepreneur, however one thing I know for sure is asking for insights and feedback gets you to where you want to go sooner, and less expensively. Give some research a try.
