Getting anything accomplished today is a feat.

The real reason why is because of the number of distractions.

It is overwhelming.

The number of media outlets, cable, broadcast, websites, social media, and influencers presents people globally a tremendous amount of content from which to choose at any point.

So, why would anyone choose to do homework, study, cook, work, read a book (tactile)? Since, most of us already know that distractions are negatively impacting our productivity.

So, sharing 3 strategies to help you and us all:

  1. Use Do Not Disturb mode on your phone. Period.

You control your time. Set boundaries to maximize your productivity.

2. Timeblock your calendar to do emails, calls, work, writing and business development (if entrepreneurial).

3. Play. YES. PLAY. Go outside, like outdoors and do indoors play — WITHOUT your phone or Apple Watch for 15 minutes. Lose yourself to a walk, bike ride or Apple Watch. If you’re a caregiver (children or parents), this may feel irresponsible. So, put someone else on call OR reduce the time to five or ten minutes. It is proven that you maximize your productivity through recreational activity. Bonus is that you connect witty other people, even if it’s just your neighbors.

Try Pickleball…it’s all the rage.

These tips are likely NOT new to you. Just a reminder to stop trying to do it all, and carve out time for work and play, and you will live both a more balanced and productive life.
